What I did
Creative and Technical Direction, Design & Coding
The idea behind the BrandBox was to give visitors of the Retail EXPO 2019 in London the chance to get creative and construct their own vision for their ideal brand experience. Inside the box was a plinth with dials and sliders, each representing an important ingredient of an engaging brand. Users played with the different controls to select how they prefer a brand to behave. As they did this, their surroundings changed – colours, patterns, and sounds were altered, making a brand experience unique to them and their tastes. Afterward, visitors could print out and take home their own brand experience recipe.
The interactive part of the experience was made using NodeJS on a Mac Mini, communicating with an Arduino for the user input and a video multiplexer and a printer for the output. The physical build took less than a week and 3 days for the digital part.
